All-Inclusive in Maldives. What does it mean ?
In most Maldives resorts, like anywhere else, a very basic all-inclusive package includes 3 meals a day and some beverages.
Meals are generally served as buffets at the main restaurant with a selection of beverages to choose from.
That is for the most basic plan.
Some resorts add all-day snacks, in-villa minibar and additional à la carte restaurants.
A few resorts offer access to premium dining options ( like underwater restaurants or Signature restaurants ) and if they do it will be with a discount and on pre-booking – meaning that you can not go to eat there at the last minute.
Some Premium All-Inclusive resorts give access to their fine dining restaurants according to the amount of nights you spend at the hotel. The more prestigious the restaurant is, the more nights you will need to book.
The same applies for spa treatments and excursions.
All-Inclusive also usually means unlimited use of non-motorized water sports and snorkeling equipment. It can also include some land sports like the hotel fitness center, yoga lessons, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and more.
Note about Boutique and Ultra-Luxury Resorts :
As elsewhere in the world, in Maldives, boutique, ultra-luxury hotels or resorts don’t offer all-inclusive packages, although some have recently introduced light packages that offer attractive food and beverage benefits, such as Soneva Jani and Amilla Fushi.
Choosing the right resort and knowing the rates
Resorts that offer such packages may charge higher rates than those that do not.
