Six Senses Laamu has announced the start of seaplane transfers on October 1st 2023. The resort, which is located in Laamu Atoll, southern Maldives, will now be directly reachable in 65 mns on board of a scenic flight with …the Flying Turtle, the resort’s superb private seaplane.

Guests staying at Six Senses Laamu can now enjoy the pleasure of flying directly by seaplane from Malé to the resort in 65 mns.
Up until this new transfer option, the resort was only reachable after a 45 mns flight to Kadhdhoo domestic airport, in Laamu Atoll, followed by a 20 mns speed boat ride – this transfer type still remains accessible upon request.
Upon your arrival at Velana International Airport (MLE), Six Senses Laamu representatives will guide you to the seaplane terminal for your scenic flight. While you await your connecting seaplane flight, you can unwind in a cozy lounge equipped with restroom amenities, complimentary refreshments, and Wi-Fi services.
The Flying Turtle, the resort’s beautiful and exclusive seaplane
Six Senses Laamu seaplane, called the Flying Turtle ( love the name 🙂 ) will be exclusively dedicated to transporting guests of the resort.
The aircraft is operated by TMA*, and features a turtle on a turquoise background that reminds the color of the lagoon. The design was expertly crafted and adorned by TMA’s in-house team specifically for the resort.
/ TMA stands for Trans Maldivian Airways, the world’s largest seaplane fleet.

The cost of seaplane transfers to Six Senses Laamu
Round-trip transfers between Velana International Airport and Six Senses Laamu resort rate ( inclusive of taxes per person) :
- USD 1,269 per adult (12 years and above)
- USD 759 per child (2-11 years)
- Infants under 2 years are free of charge (provided they sit on a parent’s lap).
Transfers are arranged and booked solely by the resort upon making a reservation. Cost is subject to change.
