2011 was really the Year of Maldives environment protection and awareness.
So many Green projects have been going on until today, involving some Maldives Resorts.
Huvafen Fushi joins again the adventure with a new idea for Coral Reef Rehabilitation Project :
To give the guests the chance to plant and name their very own coral.
2 Sessions will be organized.
The first in December and the second in January.

Session 2
2nd January 2012 11:00 – 13:00
- Attend a 30-minute presentation on the project at Oceanpedia
- Begin coral processing at Oceanpedia
- Receive a coral ID and name your very own coral

More About the Coral Reef Rehabilitation Project at Huvafen Fushi, Maldives
Fringed by an ecosystem of immeasurable beauty, Per AQUUM’s Huvafen Fushi is dedicated to expanding the protection and awareness of its House Reef. In 2006, Per AQUUM launched a project to enhance the House Reef and to speed the recovery from the 1998 Indian Ocean Bleaching Event, where unusually warm surface waters damaged countless reefs. Two marine biologists assisted with the project, success fully restoring an ecosystem at the underwater spa through the development of a coral nursery and coral reef rehabilitation project. Per AQUUM expanded this project by appointing a Resident Marine Biologist to monitor the House Reef and reef fish.
