# SafeTravels
The Maldives have been stamped with the ‘Safe Travels’ label on September 18, 2020, by the World Travel Tourism Council.
This Global Safety Stamp recognises the respect and application of Safe Travels Protocols.
Safe Travels Label by WWTC
Since its launch, only just over 40 destinations around the world have received this label.
In order to reassure travelers and encourage those who do not wish to travel again (yet), the WTTC launched the WTTC Safe Travels Label.
The Maldives Labelled Safe Travel Destination
Now that the Maldives have finally received this valuable recognition, travelers can be assured that the Maldivian authorities and tourist establishments are meeting the required hygiene and safety standards.

About the Safe Travels Label
The specially designed stamp allows travellers to recognise governments and companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardised protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.
Eligible companies such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, attractions, short term rentals, car rentals, outdoor shopping, transportation and airports, will be able to use the stamp once the health and hygiene protocols, outlined by WTTC, have been implemented.
The Safe Travels Label is approved by the World Tourism Organization and more than 200 travel companies.
This is the first global label for safety and hygiene in the field of travel and tourism designed to treat epidemics such as COVID-19 or similar.
