About Freedive Maldives and Neyvaa event
Neyvaa 2 is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI). A documentary detailing the whole event from planning to execution process is also in motion by Freedive Maldives and this documentary is planned to be released through Netflix/Amazon Prime and YouTube.
Freedive Maldives in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism aim to raise awareness of the impact of climate change by conducting a freediving world record event.
While Neyvaa 1 showcased the successful attempt for a Guinness World Record by 521 participants who practiced freediving simultaneously, Neyvaa 2 will return to set a new world record as ‘most people performing static apnea simultaneously’. Static apnea is a freediving discipline in which a person holds their breath underwater for as long as possible while floating on the surface of the water
