In Maldives, you will often see baby blacktip reef sharks hanging out on the shore of your island.
Do Not Fear them ! They are more scared than you are. Baby sharks are totally harmless and will flee if you come too close.
They are not dangerous nor a risk for any human. These sharks are simply learning to hunt on their own as their mother is totally devoid of maternal instinct and let them at birth.

About maldives blacktip reef sharks
Sharks are common in Maldives and you will be able to observe many different species. The blacktip and the whitetip are the most common sharks in the Maldives.
They measure about 50 cms/1.5 ft long.
Adult blacktip sharks can measure up to a little more than 2 meters and are often found on the drop-offs of the islands.
During your stay, you will probably see them on the beach or while snorkeling, at a few meters away. They are very shy and will quickly will move away if approached.
Observe them from afar, it is such a precious opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat and without scuba diving.
