There are many chances that this white roof pavilion is not unknown to you…Its singular architecture can not be forgotten. And if by chance, you have already spent your holidays in North Male Atoll, you might have seen it at the horizon, brightly shining under the Sun, reminding you a lighthouse in the far end.
Your inspiration is almost right…as its name is indeed the “Lighthouse“. But the comparison stops there, as the Lighthouse is the name of one of the best Gastronomic restaurants in the Maldives.
Signature, highlight and landmark of the Luxury Hotel Baros Maldives, the Lighthouse was built on the lagoon and stands as a culinary reference by proposing an elaborated, innovative and fine A La Carte dining menu. Flavours are mainly based on Mediterranean and Asiatic Food, turning into a surprisingly taste experience when it also comes to the Fusion of both of them.
Wine lovers will appreciate the wide range of precious and excellent crus and cepages including selective labels from many of the world’s most respected regions as wine tasting sessions can be arranged in it. The wine cellar is set in a glittering glass-paneled section of the restaurant.
If you do not plan to have a diner at the Lighthouse, you will be able to enjoy the place during an exclusive and romantic Tête-à-Tête or with friends at the upper terrace Bar for a drink or a wine tasting to admire the view over the magnificent and endless blue lagoon of Baros.
THE ARCHITECTURE
The Lighthouse original idea is the fruit of the very talented Maldivian Architect Mohamed Shafeeq, whose portfolio includes some of the most beautiful and luxurious resorts in the Indian Ocean ( Seychelles, Mauritius, Thailand…) and of course in Maldives with among others, Anantara Resort, Soneva Gili, Huvafen Fushi, Taj Exotica, Coco Palm Bodu Hithi…
Shafeeq wished to make the Lighthouse as unique and remarkable as it could be. He created an avant-gardist, very stylish and surprising design and succeeded to give Baros Maldives a Signature of a kind.
The Lighthouse is indeed unforgettable and eye-striking and perfectly combines the outside and inside life. The panoramic view on the Atoll is almost at 360 degrees through an ingenious and discret opening system around the pavilion and from the upper floor, allowing also to maintain an intimate and cosy atmosphere. Material such as coconut wood, teck and metal were used and mixed by Shafeek to give it a real contemporary Maldivian style.
The Lighthouse is true to the concept of Baros Maldives : elegant, intimate, unique and surprising.
